I only recently became aware of microneedling and at first glance, it seemed barbaric! Piercing your skin with hundreds of tiny needles over and over - ON PURPOSE??? It was just weird enough to make me research further.The premise behind microneedling is that aging skin produces less collagen. Collagen is the stuff that keeps skin plump and less wrinkly. It also repairs skin damage from the sun, from acne, from injuries etc. So when you make thousands of tiny puncture wounds in your skin, it stimulates your skin to produce collagen to repair the puncture wounds. The science behind it made sense, so I spent a couple of hours Googling the process and discovered that dermatologists are recommending it as a skin treatment that can be done at home. I also watched quite a few YouTube videos of the actual process, which I suggest for anyone purchasing a microneedle roller. It made me feel highly confident that I knew how to do it. Ordered the 1.5mm and got more like a 1.0mm. The outside of the box is labeled 1.5mm. They could've done a mix up or the 1.5mm model is as long as it is. Other 1.5mm brands are the correct size. This brand has a few needles that are shorter than others, could cause injury if not careful. So far, I've decided to keep it because I'm experienced and know how to handle it and I don't need too much length as my scars are not as deep, yet they are very visible. However, because I understand how to handle it, I haven't had any problems with the roller within the last 2 months of use.I have depressed icepick scarring and irregularities with my skin due to acne 15+ years ago. I have seen a great reduction in the scarring and it has only been 2mos. of use. My large pores and bumpy texture has also seen some improvement.
