The Lava Bar is the original heavy-duty hand cleaner. Since 1893, do-it-yourselfers, coal miners, and oil rig workers have depended on the power of pumice in Lava to cut through even the toughest grease and grime. Lava's name was derived from one of its key ingredients-pumice. A by-product of volcanic activity, pumice is used in combination with other cleaning and moisturizing agents to clean and soften even the dirtiest of hands.

(Pack of 24) (Health and Beauty) I've used Lava hand soap for more than 40 years. My family used it when I was a kid, to remove dirt from gardening and outdoor work and also for greasy messes after working on cars or lawn mowers. We had Lava and a nail brush in our downstairs half bath, and that was the first place we went when we came in from outdoors.We use it today in our own home, for the same reason. It cuts grease and removes dirt and stains from hands better than any other soap out there. The secret ingredient is pumice, which is abrasive enough to scour off stubborn dirt without damaging your skin. Use it with a nail brush and your hands will never tell people that you were just digging in the dirt or cleaning your BBQ grill an hour before. It has the same scent it did in the 70s, and the formulation hasn't changed except for the addition of moisturizers - which I can't detect when I use it.
